Terry Gilliam on Inception

This comment from Terry Gilliam about the movie Inception was spot on for me:

"With ’Inception,’ I wondered why all of the dreams were action movies. Don’t people have other dreams?"

Check out the rest of the article. I think he explains why I was bored watching Sucker Punch this past weekend.

Exactly. Not just action movies, but action movies that take place in a universe with no rules except totally arbitrary ones, so nothing is at stake. That movie irritated me.

I didn't like it either:

"Unfortunately Inception is uninterested in trying to answer these questions. There's just no time for the characters to do or say anything to address them as there are always bullets to dodge or places to evacuate because Fischer's mental mercenaries will be arriving anon."
