Geek Goddesses

A group of Australian IT hotties has posed for a calendar.

Female IT professionals have posed for a provocative calendar to try and shake off their industry's geeky image and encourage young women to consider a computing career.

"Five years ago, women made up 25 per cent of the IT industry worldwide and now it's down to 16 per cent," Ms Bernhardt said today.

"The method in the madness is to get to a broader audience so that people can see that it's not nerds in the IT industry.

"They are full bodied, fully intelligent, fully socialised women who absolutely love what they do."

The IT Screen Goddesses Calendar features women from the IT industry posing as movie sirens, such as the bikini-clad Ursula Andress in the James Bond movie Dr No and the rose petal scene from the movie, American Beauty.

"Statistics show us that one of the biggest barriers to entry is the perception of the industry," said Ms Bernhardt.

Ooh, la la! Why don't I get to work with IT professionals of that caliber?
