Obama to CIA: Terminate With Extreme Prejudice

Barack Obama learned a thing or two during his time in Chicago. Just as the CPD saw fit to dispatch Fred Hampton, Obama is happy to have the CIA assassinate American citizens without due process. No trial – nothing. To wit:

A Muslim cleric tied to the attempted bombing of a Detroit-bound airliner has become the first U.S. citizen added to a list of suspected terrorists the CIA is authorized to kill, a U.S. official said Tuesday.

Because he is a U.S. citizen, adding Aulaqi to the CIA list required special approval from the White House, officials said. The move means that Aulaqi would be considered a legitimate target not only for a military strike carried out by U.S. and Yemeni forces, but also for lethal CIA operations.

CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano said: "This agency conducts its counterterrorism operations in strict accord with the law."

Doesn't the law say that U.S. citizens cannot be deprived of life without due process? Or does the 14th Amendment not apply when Big Daddy in the White House says it doesn't? This coming from a man who taught Constitutional law. Here's a take on the issue from Keith Olbermann.

So where are all the Madison progressives on this? Where is John Nichols' rant? He wrote a book about impeachment when he was none too happy with George Bush so where is his outrage about Obama's presidential assassination program? I searched The Cap Times and The Nation and came up with nothing.
