The Dulcinea pointed this out to me.
Honey Bee Bakery, a Community Supported Bakery that also does business at farmers markets, will be opening a store at 2302 Atwood. It's that small building which used to be an emporium of all things Jamaican. It's to be called Bea's Bonnet. According to this site, BB will offer "beverages, ice cream and snacks made from local and organic produce., and of course, Mary’s fabulous bakery products."
Honey Bee Bakery at Atwood and Jackson is now open, 11-7 weekdays, 9-2 weekends(I might have that reversed?). Everything is organic! Scones, tarts, coffee, soup sandwiches, cookies, etc. Sometimes local acoustic musician(s) playing on weekends.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that on Friday. I went over there on Saturday but they were closed. Presumably normal hours started on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThey're open again (Thurs-Sun noon-8 at the moment) and deeeeelicious.
ReplyDeleteOpen again?
ReplyDeleteI shall have to try once more. What have you tasted there?
Ham and cheese sandwich, pork empanada, chocolate dome cake - and in the past, cornbread and pies/tarts from the market stand. Everything always tastes good, but I think the empanada, at $3.50, was the best quality/value ratio.
ReplyDeleteIf you try their soup, please let me know what you think - they didn't have any when we went.
