Orpheum Bids Farewell to Movies(?)

I was really disappointed to read the following on (WI Film Fest director) Meg Hamel's Twitter page:

During #wifilmfest, an Orpheum staffer told me one of the owners (not Henry) was planning to end movies there. No films scheduled now.

Bummer. That leaves downtown without a commercial cinema and deprives cinephiles of another venue for art films.

In better news, a couple films I missed at the festival will be screening at Sundance in the near future.

The first is Lee Chang-dong's Poetry which opens on the 22nd of this month.

And then there's Meek's Cutoff which will arrive on 20 May.
