Jamie now reckons himself a photographer and follows these creatures into a cloud which just happens to be a portal to another place, another time and holds images of a mysterious city a la "The City on the Edge of Forever", I suppose.
Jamie wants to photograph this weird, unearthly realm and follows the aliens into the cloud. He ends up in a strange place only to be rescued by the Doctor at the last minute.
The Doctor puts his smoking pipe into his pocket before leaving the TARDIS. How odd. Was he ever seen smoking a pipe after "The Unearthly Child"?
