The sap runneth slowly

Ryan Urban reports from up north that this year's maple syrup harvest looks to be mediocre.

Local maple syrup producers are reporting a subpar harvest this spring.

During the prime collecting weeks in late March and early April, temperatures were either too cold or too warm.

“It never really warmed up and then it got too warm,” said Maynard Hoff, of Maple Creek Sugarbush in the Town of Arland. “We’re going to be down about two-thirds of a crop.”
