It's been a while since I've baked any cookies so surely this means summer is over. Well, in a couple days it shall be. Still, the weather has been cool enough to fire up the oven and I made a batch of maple cookies.
A whole cup of maple sugar went into them along with a dose of maple extract. The recipe, from King Arthur's mega-cookie cookbook, calls for rolling the dough in sugar before baking and then glazing them afterwards. This seemed to be overkill to me so I made unadorned cookies. They are quite tasty, in my humble opinion, and will be going to my stepson's place where he and his father will enjoy them.
