If anyone is interested in debating the merits of
taberds that are knee-length vs. those that touch the ground or in watching full-contact medieval-style combat, then get your ass to Goodland Park on Saturday.
The Clan of the Hydra is the local chapter of
Belegarth, a medieval combat society, and members will be getting medieval on each others' asses with foam weapons. Plus they'll be dressing all retro and by this I mean the cool retro. None of this 1970s bullshit that the kids are into nowadays, we're talking the 1370s!
The event is regional and it sounds like there will be folks there from around the upper Midwest. Again, it's at Goodland Park and lasts from 11-6. An after-party is promised as well. Just look at all the fun!
But wait - there's more! In addition to a bunch of sweaty guys in costume beating each other with foam swords, clubs, maces, and the like, there's hotties with bows!
