Naughty Bits on Celluloid

I found a neat site for folks like myself who like sex and cinema. It's called Sex in Cinema: The Greatest and Most Influential Erotic/Sexual Films and Scenes. Although films from around the world are listed, the introduction addresses eroticism and sexuality in American cinema and in American culture.

It's funny to hear of how scandalous certain things were decades ago that are considered tame, if not "normal" today. For instance, Night Nurse (1931) was deemed salacious because it featured stars Barbara Stanwyck and Joan Blondell "frequently undressing to their silky underwear". Women shown in undergarments is as common as a cold nowadays. Then there's the supposedly awful The Brown Bunny which has a genuine blowjob shown in all its gory detail. We've come (ahem) a long way, for better or for worse.

The list features some favorite films of mine such as Secretary, Mulholland Drive, and The Dreamers. And of course there's several films mentioned that I've never seen or even heard of that look intriguing such as 9 Songs and Battle in Heaven.
