Another short Short Trip. And, like the previous one, it also concerns a boy.
Here, though, the protagonist is a bit older. Norman Bean is writing one of those what-I-did-on-my-summer-vacation, er, holidays essays for class. But instead of days spent at the beach, the boy recounts seeing a ghostly apparition at home that looks an awful lot like his father. This phantasm claims to be Norman's future self and tries to convince him to buy toys and stow them away still sealed so that, when he is a grown man, he'll have a fortune in collectibles. The elder Norman even tries to convince the boy to steal money from his grandmother to buy the toys with.
It turns out that the older Norman has stumbled upon a time-rift and is using it to convince his younger self to be a smart investor. However, the Doctor, Zoe, and Jamie are hot on his tail and they eventually apprehend the time traveling Gordon Gekko wannabe.
At 6 pages or so this is not a substantial story but the running commentary by the teacher grading the essay was humorous. A mere hors d'oeuvre but a fun one.
