A friend and I dined at Touch of Ukraine last week. It was the first time for each of us.
The pelmeni, not pictured, were served with a generous dose of butter, forming a shallow pond at the bottom of the dish. The little dumplings were very tasty with the dough being al dente. My only gripe was that they came with a paucity of sour cream. You wouldn't think it possible in Wisconsin.
The chicken cutlets, seen above, were moist and delicious. The roasted broccoli was perhaps a bit underdone, but still good. The buckwheat was great even though I wished I had saved the butter from the bottom of the pelmeni dish for it. The groats were light and fluffy and had a lovely, mellow nutty flavor. A couple dollops of pickled carrot and beet were the perfect complements.
