There's a crazy world outside

It took me a couple months or so but I have finally started It Can't Happen Here by Sinclair Lewis.

My wife listened to it back in the spring and ordered several copies to give to friends. She even offered a copy to me. I think it comports with her views of Trump, a 90 year-old warning to us today. I've been reading it on the bus as wells as taken it with me to the bar across the highway when I go there for dinner and have gotten a bit more than a quarter through.

I am enjoying it. Lewis' style is a nice balance of narrative, sarcasm, and droll humor. It's hard for someone on the left like myself not to see more than a little bit of Berzelius Windrip in our dear leader. I look forward to seeing where Lewis takes this tale.
