Joseph L. Owades
died at the age of 86 a few days ago. Owades was a fermentation scientist and will always be remembered for inventing light beer. Personally, I wish light beer would have died with him but no such luck. While light beer will be his epitaph, he also made positive contributions to the beer world such as
Samuel Adams and
Pete's Wicked Ale. So, let's try to forget his mistake and instead celebrate the great contributions he made to brewing.
