What To Do This Weekend?

Let's see...

You can celebrate Madison's 150th birthday. There's a variety of activities going on plus there's SesquicentenniAle to be had at the Great Dane.

The Mad Rollin' Dolls skate tomorrow night. Good luck if you don't already have a ticket.

Odyssey Con VI will be at the Radisson Inn on the west side for all of us sci-fi geeks.

What would spring in Madison be without SlutFest? Catch some live music and learn about slutiness all at the same venue. A bargain at any price.

The galleries at the Overture Center received new works yesterday. There's new stuff by people associated with the UW as well as young folk.

Go to the cinema and read some subtitles. Tsotsi has opened here as has a re-released Elevator to the Gallows.

Beer lovers can drink up some SesquicentenniAle but also have the option for some tastings out of town:

5th Annual Between the Bluffs Beer & Cheese Festival - 2-6 PM
City Brewery Hospitality Center, 111 3rd St. South, La Crosse, WI - (608) 785-4820

4th Annual MDA Toast to Hop Party & Micro Beer Tasting - 6-9 PM - $30
Hal’s Harley Davidson, 1925 S. Moorland Rd., New Berlin, WI 53151

Lastly, head on over to the Socialist Potluck tomorrow evening and celebrate the life of Madisonian Clarence Kailin, a member of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade which fought facism during the Spanish Civil War. I've never met the gentleman and look forward to doing so. Hopefully he won't mind me dating his granddaughter...
