Just a couple of days ago I discovered Virginia Astley's album From Gardens Where We Feel Secure. Released in 1983, it's a gorgeous work of songs that chronicle an English summer day. It's mainly piano but the ivories are accompanied by woodwind and adorned with the bucolic sounds of the English countryside such as birdsong. I think of it as being very Anthony Phillips-like with piano replacing guitar.
Beautiful, meditative. Just lovely music.
