Sex is good...and good for you

I was recently directed by the latest newsletter from A Woman's Touch to an older article from Forbes entitled "Is Sex Necessary?" which gives a run-down on the health and potential health benefits of making the beast with two (or one) backs. There were some bits which I'd heard before such as benefits to theh prostate gland and sex just as exercise. But there were some other upsides to sex with which I was completely unfamilar. For instance, one gets a post-coital sense of smell:

After sex, production of the hormone prolactin surges. This in turn causes stem cells in the brain to develop new neurons in the brain's olfactory bulb, its smell center.

Plus this one which I did not expect:

Seminal plasma contains zinc, calcium and other minerals shown to retard tooth decay.

Now if that isn't a good reason to deposit some seminal plasma into a fraulein's mouth, I don't know what is. OK, free dental work for the ladies!

The article goes on to say that women basically can't overdose on sex. In fact, too little sex can lead to vaginal atrophy in which the the vagina narrows on account of disuse. On the other hand, men run the risk of priapism and of damaging erectile tissue - permanently. Basically this means that prolonged erections prevent oxygenated blood from entering the penis and this just ain't good.

The newsletter also indicated that the store's DVD collection is growing, specifically their selection of pre-1986 movies. Presumably 1986 is when pornographers decided to deprive viewers of the sight of women's sweet bottom grass.
