The Crap Times has reported that Luther's Blues is no more.

For four and a half years, Luther's has hosted a strong lineup of national and local acts. But in recent months the club, 1401 University Ave., has struggled. Employees walked out, creditors say they went unpaid and the phone lines were disconnected for a time.

That's too bad. I've heard criticism from folks in local bands that the joint had all but abandoned show featuring local bands. Still, I thought Luther's was a good venue. It was a nice size and I never had trouble getting to the front of the stage to scream during "400 Bucks" or to ogle The Pontani Sisters.
