Cans Within Cans

At a friend's house recently, I encountered something very odd. My friend went to open his can of Afterglow from Milwaukee's Good City Brewing but he broke the tab trying to get the thingy the tab is supposed to open open. After putzing around for a couple minutes, he found himself in some weird Ezekiel situation with a can top within a can top.

Beer cans are filled with no lid, and then the lid is put on by a seamer. So two can lids likely stuck together through the feeding sleeve and somehow didn't break the seamer or leak beer everywhere.

I guess Good City has a very robust canner.
