This story features a farmer named Thomas Watson who is the anti-Daniel Plainview in that he is not interested in the oil underneath his land. It's funny to think of Jamie traipsing around Texas in the early 20th century in his kilt. But he and Victoria and the Doctor help Watson overcome the evil machinations of John Glassman who represents Big Oil.
Pretty standard Doctor Who fare with our hero siding with and helping the common man. A fun detour to Texas nonetheless.
